Hole Description |
Pro Tip |
1 |
A
generous opening hole with a good drive leaving just a short
iron to the green. Two greenside bunkers lie in wait for any
wayward approaches. |
3 wood off the tee aimed at the marker pole will put you in
perfect position for a medium to short iron into the green |
| |
2 |
Big dog leg to the right, a fairway bunker is there to catch out
anybody that tries to cut the corner. Slopping green from front
to back makes this a tricky par 4. Two putts on here and you
will be delighted. |
Long iron off the tee aimed between the bushes to leave you a
medium iron into the green. Watch this green as it can cause
problems because of the severity of it. |
| |
3 |
Short par four up the hill, a good drive gives a great birdie
chance. |
A
good driver here will only leave you a short pitch in to the
green. A good birdie chance. |

4 |
A
good drive through the gap will leave a short iron. A good
birdie chance but a drive too long will catch the fairway
bunker. |
A
nice tee shot with either a driver or a 3 wood aimed at the left
hand fairway bunker with a slight fade will only leave you a
short iron in to this green. A nice easy first 4 holes if played
sensibly. |

5 |
First par three on the course. Measuring 194 yards off the white tees, a par on here is a great result.
A long par 3 that will need a good long iron or may be even fairway metal to hit this green. Watch out for the ever inviting bunkers that surround this hole.
6 |
Some might say the toughest hole on the course, a drive up to the marker post will still leave a mid to long iron to a heavily protected green. Out of bounds on the right will make you think about your tee shot.
In my opinion the hardest hole on the course. This needs a very accurate tee shot followed by a long iron or even a wood. Even tour pros would be happy with a par here.

This long par four is stroke index one for good reason. A fairway bunker on the right will catch any wayward tee shots, and make your approach blind. Two big bunkers protect this flat green.
Another long par 4. A solid driver with a draw will put you in good position. This will leave you with a long to medium iron in to this narrow green.
8 |
A relatively wide open tee shot, lets you really grip it and rip it. A good drive will have you reaching for the fairway wood, but bunkers around the green make a lay up the sensible play.
Par 5 with a good tee shot may even give you a chance of hitting this par 5 in 2. If not a sensible second will only give you a short pitch in.

Dogleg to the left, a good drive to the marker will leave a mid to short iron to the green. Be warned, any thing left on this hole and the ball might not be seen again. |
A challenging par 4. A slightly drawn tee shot with a fairway wood aimed at the marker post will put you in perfect position for a medium iron to the green.

Another long par three, a long iron to the middle of the green is ideal. A tricky start to the back nine.
Another long par 3 guarded by bunkers takes an accurate long iron to the green.

A short par four that doglegs to the right, out of bounds to the right will make you think about cutting the corner.
A faded tee shot with a driver will give you a medium iron in. Watch out for the 3 oaks though.

Two fairway bunkers make this a tough tee shot. Your approach will make or break this hole. Too long and a tricky chip back up the hill is needed. A big slopping green makes two putts very difficult.
A nice draw off the tee will leave you a short iron in but don’t under estimate this green.

The further right on the fairway you go the better. Anything left could leave a blind shot to a big slopping right to left green.
A tricky par 4 with beautiful views one of my favorites.
A good drive followed by a mid iron second to a very undulating green. Not for the faint hearted.

A tricky tee shot with trees right and left. Green is heavily protected with bunkers short and long. A big flat green waits..
A nice par five not to long but not easy.
Good driver over the marker post will leave you a good view of the well graded green. My choice is to lay up and then pitch on.

It is called ‘Temptation’ for a reason. A short par four with the green surrounded by water, a short iron off the tee makes this hole much easier, but where is the fun in that? A great matchplay hole..
Temptation my favorite.
I always go for the green as it is a well drivable par 4, but many lay up to have a short iron left in. Watch the ponds.

The shortest par three on the course, but certainly not the easiest! The tee shot from an elevated tee an island green makes this the signature hole at Whitefields. Many good scores have been ruined here.
A very nice looking par 3 surrounded by water. But don’t underestimate a long iron is needed to reach.

A short par four with water in front of the tees, a good drive to the left of the big tree will leave a short iron to the green. Be careful not to go too far left though as out of bounds will come into play.
A long iron off the tee aimed just left of the oak tree will leave a mid iron in to the green.

A tricky finishing hole with out of bounds left and trees on the right, a straight tee shot will leave a mid to short iron to the green but the Captains bunker to the left of the green could leave you out of pocket.
A driver off the tee to a big fairway will leave you a mid iron to this well guarded green.
